rhapsody attended the Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX) 2022
We went to VMX!

Another VMX in the books! It’s one of the most highly anticipated veterinary conferences of the year and while COVID has certainly had an impact on the last couple of VMXs, it hasn’t dampened the sprits of those in attendance. Even though the previous meeting was just a short six months ago, the exhibit hall, the Hyatt lobby, and the surrounding restaurants & bars were all buzzing with excitement and anticipation.
One of the reasons I love attending VMX with rhapsody/Petabyte is because it helps illustrate our evolution. When we attended our first VMX in 2019, we bounced in as a fresh new startup with one product, rhapsody. Since then, we’ve evolved into a mature company with an entire suite of products (rhapsody, Boop, & Petabyte Analytics) that serve our partners, veterinary practices, and pet parents with end-to-end technology.
VMX is a great platform to connect with some of the best people in the veterinary space so we can work together to drive the industry forward. And in the last couple of years, Petabyte has formed some of the largest and most formidable relationships in the industry with forward-thinking and dynamic teams. Last year we channeled that energy into the launch of the Petabyte Consortium – a program designed to leverage cross-industry collaboration to build an independent platform focused on improving the lives of veterinary teams as well as the patients and pet parents they serve.
So, for us, VMX 2022 was all about gathering with existing partners, creating new relationships, and taking the Petabyte Consortium to the next level. Michael Hyman (CEO), Tim Mahlman (President), Kim Fish, (VP of Veterinary Strategy), and I spent the weekend knee-deep in strategy & plans for the year ahead. We met with partners large and small to celebrate the last 12 months and kick things off for the 12 months to come.
And when I say we celebrated, I mean it. Before a meeting with a Petabyte Consortium partner, Michael discovered the CEO was a big tequila fan. Unable to find out his favorite, Michael bought some tequila at random (a smiling bottle of Rey Sol, to be exact). It turned out to be so good, we brought the leftovers to our 10am meeting the next day and each had a shot. Who says you can’t build the future of the veterinary space without having some fun?!
We’re so excited with what’s in store for Petabyte, the Petabyte Consortium, and the veterinary industry in 2022. And if you want to get in on the hype, we’re always welcoming more industry talent to partner with us and drive our platforms further. Build the future with us (we’ve got tequila 😉)!
